Stephen Curry, the two-time MVP

Stephen Curry, the two-time MVP

Named Wardell Stephen Curry II, the 30-year-old American professional basketball player, who's now widely regarded as the greatest shooter in the history of the sport, is the son of former NBA player Dell Curry.

His father enjoyed a lengthy career in the NBA, playing mostly for the Charlotte Hornets where he currently holds the record for the all-time leader in points and three-point field goals. Stephen Curry also has a brother playing in the NBA, Seth Curry, who is currently signed with the Dallas Mavericks.

Now a household name, Stephen Curry was anything but during his high school years. He was not as heavily recruited and eventually landed in Davidson where he set the all-time scoring record for the University and that of the entire Southern Conference. In his second year of college basketball, the then-sophomore Stephen Curry also set the single-season record in the NCAA for most three-points made.

After playing three seasons with the Wildcats, Stephen Curry opted for the 2009-10 NBA draft where he was eventually drafted by the Golden State Warriors with their #7 pick. Even as a rookie, Stephen Curry flashed his seemingly unlimited range and his propensity for fancy ball-handling. However, it was not until the 2014-15 season, with Steve Kerr now as the team's head coach that Stephen Curry finally blossomed as he won the MVP and led the Warriors to their first championship since 1975.

Stephen Curry has only become better. The following season, he won the MVP award again, only this time, he made history as the first to receive the award via unanimous vote while his team, the Golden State Warriors, set the new record for the most wins in an NBA season.

Since the 2014-15 season, Stephen Curry has helped guide the Golden State Warriors to two titles in three years, with possibly a third one coming after this season's end.
