Useful tips and tricks to handle the basketball

You may be a rookie, a pro or also someone new to the game but in order to play the game, the most important thing you need to know is on how to handle the basketball. The truth is you can't play the game if you don't know how to handle the ball. So, in this article, we will be giving you few tips and tricks which you can use to improve your ball handling skills.

For starters, start dribbling the ball every day until the dribble is under your control and you feel that the ball is a part of you. In other words, you should be able to dribble the ball even with your eyes closed and not having to worry about losing the basketball. But certain circumstance may not allow you to dribble daily but try to dribble as much as possible as repetition is always the key to perfection. When dribbling, never keep your eye on the basketball. If you are new, then for a couple of times you may have to look at the ball but if you have been playing for a while, you should be able to dribble without looking at the ball.

To be a great ball handler, you should be able to dribble the ball with both the hands. You should be able to handle the ball with both your left and right hand. If you rely only on one hand, then you will be holding back on your true potential. You can improve your weak hand by practicing with the weakest hand while you place your dominant hand behind your back. 

If you have noticed, you may have seen that most of the pro ballers use the hand which they are not dribbling to block the ball from being stolen. This is an effective way and also a trick which can be used to you to improve your game. 

Eventually, the more you play and practice, you will learn more tricks which you can implement and make your game play better
