Timothy Theodore Duncan, commonly known as Tim Duncan is a well-renowned basketball player from the US. He was born in 1976. He has played in San Antonio Spurs of the NBA for his entire career. He plays either as power-forward or as a centre. He initially started with the game of swimming. However, when the only one Olympics sized pool in his hometown was destroyed by Hurricane Hugo, he shifted his focus on basketball.
Duncan pursued basketball from ninth grade because of some positive motivation from his brother -in-law. He completed his college degree from the Wake Forest University and was an active member of the basketball team. His Professional career started when he joined the San Antonio Spurs in 1997 as a centre/ power forward. Till date, he is known to play for the same. His professional career is dotted with various medals and awards like an Olympic Bronze in 2007, two gold medals in FIBA Championships, Bronze in Goodwill Games and gold in Summer Universiade.
He has a glittery NBA Career as well. He is an NBA Champion for five times, NBA-NVP for two times, NBA MVP Finals for three times. He has also been awarded as Rookie of the year in NBA. He has the honor of getting selected for both All-Defensive and All-NBA Teams in each and every time for his initial thirteen seasons. He is also associated with Tim Duncan Foundation as a part of charity in order to fund for the youth sports and education in the US.
